About the Role
We are seeking talented and motivated individuals with a passion for achieving outcomes to join us.
This is an engaging and multifaceted job with opportunities to work with a broad range of stakeholders, assist with establishing a new function, and get involved with projects that shape decisions in government.
The Director, Data Policy undertakes a high-level leadership role in data policy, strategy and governance. This position is responsible for:
- supporting better decisions, policy and strategy across all agencies and portfolios through use of data and evidence,
- supporting the progress of Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing legislation,
- ensuring that WA’s linked data asset, PeopleWA, remains responsive to key needs of government, and
- coordinating the implementation of the WA Government’s AI Policy and Assurance Framework.
This is not a technical role; we are looking for someone with an understanding of how evidence can shape better public policy outcomes and a desire to work across agencies to identify priorities, bottlenecks and solutions.
You will lead and work with dedicated and talented public servants who have a real passion for improving outcomes in the sector and the community.
