About the Role
The Urban Mobility Directorate relies on the processing, analysis, and interpretation of many geospatial datasets to make recommendations regarding planning, design, investment in and operation of urban transport systems. We are seeking a highly experienced Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Data Analyst to join our team to provide leadership, guidance, and expertise in this newly created position.
You will be at the heart of directing the flow of geospatial data using GIS software and tools to manage, maintain and continually improve the quality of information provided to peers in Urban Mobility and across the Transport Portfolio. You will lead complex GIS and spatial data tasks, manage spatial data requirements, and ensure consistency with processes and practices used across DoT and other government agencies. This will require close collaboration with staff with similar skills and responsibilities, particularly in DoT’s Coastal Information area.
This is a fulltime fixed term contract opportunity, available until 31 August 2024 with the possibility of extension or permanency.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate extensive experience and skills in geospatial data management and leading data mapping and analysis projects, along with transport sector experience.
As you will be working with internal stakeholders across the Urban Mobility Directorate and DoT, and peers at other government agencies, you will need to possess excellent communication skills including the ability to establish and maintain open communication with a diverse network.
Your abilities to work independently, set work objectives and targets, and problem solve will be great assets to the role.
