About the Role
We are looking to fill one (1) permanent full-time Level 6 position, in our Revenue Policy team, which provides advice to the Treasurer on policy settings for State taxes and mineral royalties.
However, part-time and job share arrangements will also be considered.
At Treasury, Senior Analysts work within a team to undertake analysis and provide advice on immediate and emerging revenue policy issues, as well as longer-term reform options.
The core function of the role is to develop, coordinate and deliver high quality and timely evidence informed analysis and advice on State taxation and mineral royalties to inform government decision making.
The Senior Analyst will also consider changes in the revenue base to maintain revenue in the long term and proactively identify issues, along with innovative solutions, to provide a longer-term sustainable approach to managing the State’s finances.
As a Senior Analyst, you will work alongside team members to support your Manager and Director to provide advice, with officers in RevenueWA to collaborate and share information on revenue policy issues, and with your peers across Treasury, to support the Senior Executive to meet Treasury’s goals.
The role requires critical thinking, an awareness of the broader strategic and political context, and the ability to deliver a message clearly and concisely.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can:
- analyse, interpret and evaluate quantitative and qualitative information;
- use and develop new revenue models for analysing and estimating the financial impact of changes to revenue policy;
- clarify and resolve problems through working with stakeholders and identifying/considering options;
- work effectively in a team-based environment to meet timeframes;
- work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders build relationships and share information; and
- demonstrate initiative and integrity in dealing with complex, confidential and sensitive information.
Appointment to the Position is based on the applicant’s capacity to undertake the role at the level required and commensurate with the Treasury Capability Framework.
This process may be used to fill future, similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise in the department within 12 months from the completion of this process.

It is anticipated that further assessments will be held in the week commencing 5 June 2023. If shortlisted, you will be further assessed against the capability requirements and essential role specific requirements outlined in the Role Statement. A variety of assessment tools may be used throughout the process such as the use of behavioural and cognitive testing, and video interviewing.
