The position

As a Senior Lawyer, you will be assisting Assistant General Counsel and the General Counsel to provide legal advice and conduct matters.

In this role, you will be advising upon a broad range of legal issues and conducting regulatory prosecutions and administrative law proceedings arising under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020.

You will work collaboratively with team members and clients to solve client legal problems and contribute to a collegiate and support team culture.

This position is located in East Perth (however, you may be required to work at other sites as required). Conveniently close distance from public transport and nearby City of Perth parking. Whether it’s enjoying the tranquil Queens Gardens or the riverside foreshore, you’ll be spoilt for choice. You will also enjoy onsite lifestyle facilities, including bike lockers, fully equipped change rooms and personal lockers.

What are we looking for?

You must have a Degree in Law and be admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia or be a Legal Practitioner from outside the State whose qualifications for admission in Western Australia have been approved by the Legal Practice Board for this role.

To be competitive for this roles, please submit a detailed resume and covering letter (of no more than 3 pages) addressing the following requirements:

  • Bachelor of Laws Degree or equivalent and admitted or eligible to be admitted to practise in Western Australia with post admission experience practising in the areas of litigation, general commercial, mining and resources, administrative law, regulatory enforcement or another area of law relevant to the role.
  • Experience analysing legal problems and providing clients with practical solutions.
  • Good written communication skills demonstrating attention to detail and the ability to write for the particular audience.
  • Experience managing competing priorities and timelines.
