About the role

The Visitor Services Officers (VSO’s) provide a welcoming environment and high-quality experience for Museum visitors. They help to ensure the safety of visitors and staff within the Museum, as well as the security of the Museum collection.

About you

We are seeking dynamic, self-motivated individuals who enjoy working in a positive team environment, delivering high quality customer service.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Provide a high level of visitor engagement through advanced tours and interpretive programs.
  • Process shop and admission sales.
  • Support public events and functions through either the event set-up and/or pack down, and through tours.
  • Provide a high standard of security and safety for visitors and the Museum precinct.

Eligibility to Apply

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.

A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.

We also require the following:

  • A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate.
  • A current Working with Children Check.

Pool Recruitment

Successful applicants will be placed in this pool which will be open for a period of 18 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term, full time, part time and casual appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.

Applicants found suitable in this pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies with the WA Museum for the duration of the pool.
