You can explore schools via Schools Online
Join Casual Staff Seeker
Casual Staff Seeker (CSS) is an online booking system used by many WA public schools to book casual relief staff. Once registered, you can:
- receive booking requests by SMS
- update your availability in one place
- let many schools know you are ready to work
This pathway is for non-teaching roles only. If you are a teacher seeking casual teaching and non-teaching work, apply to the Casual Teacher Pool.
How it works
Joining CSS is a simple two-step process:
Step 1: Register online
- Select Apply for Job and submit the required documentation listed under ‘Get Started’. We will review your information and prepare your profile for activation.
Step 2: Create your profile
- Once accepted, you will receive access to CSS to set your availability, locations and role details. Schools use this information to match you to casual work opportunities.
CSS increases access to casual work but does not guarantee employment.
Before you apply
To register for Casual Staff Seeker, you must have:
- Department of Education Screening Clearance Number
- All employees must consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you can work casually.
- Other police clearances/criminal record checks are not accepted.
- WA Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- If you do not have a current WWCC card or an application receipt, you must apply for WWCC before registering for Casual Staff Seeker.
- The WWCC form can be signed by a representative at any WA public school.
