More Than Just a Job
The work we do at Communities is meaningful and important - impacting some of the most vulnerable people and communities across the State. We support five Ministers spanning 10 ministerial portfolios and are responsible for bringing together vital services that support children, young people, families and communities to grow and, ultimately, to thrive.
If you’re looking for more than just a job, then read on.
About Us
The Governance, Integrity and Reform division is responsible for developing our Department’s capability by improving our outward focus, strengthening our people, and enhancing our systems and processes. The Governance, Performance and Insights directorate supports business performance by providing expertise, analysis and support services to deliver the best outcomes for our Department and the people we serve.
The work environment is dynamic with a can-do attitude and a strong focus on teamwork, collaboration and achieving outcomes. We are values-led, model our departmental values of Integrity, Courage, Respect, Empathy, Accountability, Trust, and Empowerment, and are committed to achieving a culturally secure work environment.
About you
You are an exceptional leader, able to develop and execute strategies to deliver high quality outcomes for the Department of Communities and the people we serve. You are a strong communicator and build lasting relationships through culturally-appropriate stakeholder engagement. You can demonstrate how you have led teams to deliver large-scale, complex projects or services by influencing competing senior stakeholder interests to achieve lasting and meaningful results.
As a systems thinker you have been able to connect multiple priorities (government or other complex environment) into cohesive and workable strategies. You have the ability to recognise opportunities to enhance services and improve business performance, and capitalise on these opportunities through the development and implementation of effective change strategies.
The Opportunity
The Chief Data Officer is the steward of data management and analysis in our Department and responsible for growing our capability to use data to drive improved outcomes. Decisions about individuals, investments, assets and the management of our Department rely not just on the existence of data, but on that data being accurate and available in a form that can be readily used.
Communities requires new strategic leadership and change management to support the future development and implementation of our diverse data environment, and our analytics, research and evaluation services, to meet agency and Government objectives.
In this role as the Chief Data Officer, you will be responsible for leading strategies to ensure the effective use of Communities’ data resources.
As Chief Data Officer you will also build networks across our Department and our partners (including other agencies and funded providers) to support service design and delivery.
