About the Role
We are seeking an outcomes driven and committed leader with strong stakeholder engagement and management skills with the ability to influence outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.
As Director, Economic Policy, you will empower, engage, motivate and lead a team, working collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
You will be responsible for providing strategic advice on the economic implications of key economic trends and economic shocks, delivering economic modelling services and provides data-driven solutions focussed advice on both short term and long term economic issues. In this role you will contribute to delivering Government commitments on regulatory and approvals reforms. including overseeing relevant programs, supporting cross agency working groups, building regulatory best practice across the sector and improving regulatory outcomes. You will advise Government on the costing and delivery of a fair, effective and sustainable wages policy for Government employees.

About you
We are looking for a leader who:
- sets clear direction and provides solutions to complex problems;
- is successful in build trusting relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and groups, developing partnerships and working collaboratively to facilitate outcomes;
- is people focused with the ability to motivate, empower and build the capability in teams;
- has experience in economic policy analysis and regulatory reform and Government policy making and review; and
- can quickly identify relationships between issues, synthesise complex information and discern the key implications for Treasury in the context of government priorities.
You will also align with Treasury’s values of Solutions Focused, Committed People, Working Collaboratively and Making a Difference.
Appointment is based on the applicant’s capacity to undertake the role at the level required and commensurate with Treasury’s Capability Framework, and this will be assessed throughout the recruitment process.
