THE JOB

Looking for an office with an incredible view and the opportunity to work on country on the beautiful A class reserve of Wadjemup/Rottnest Island. This role as a trainee ranger in the dynamic Environment, Heritage and Parks team will provide you with an opportunity to play a key role in managing and protecting the Island’s significant cultural and environmental values whilst developing a diverse range of skills and experiences unique to the Island

Would you like to travel to Rottnest Island every day for work?

With a supervisor and mentor, the Trainee Rangers will do a range of work looking after conservation estate on Noongar country. This includes animal and plant protection, construction and maintenance of park buildings and picnic areas, fencing, and support of tourism and recreation activities.

The successful applicants will undertake qualifications that will contribute towards a Certificate II in Conservation and Ecosystem Management. There will be a requirement to attend TAFE one day per week for 12 months and one cultural engagement day per semester.
