This is a pool recruitment process (Ref 00534). This pool will run for a period of 12 months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts, secondments, acting/relieving and permanent opportunities (full and part time).

Currently there is one position offered as a 6 month contract/secondment opportunity with the possibility of extension. This position is temporarily funded until the 30 June 2024.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

This position assists investigating officers with the gathering and collection of disclosure material including reviewing evidence, case management systems and investigate holdings; edit information and produce disclosure documents in accordance with legislation.

SPECIALIST PRE-REQUISITE

It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold and maintain the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance. Any applicants who are currently not an Australian Citizen must be aware that this is an essential requirement to fulfil this position (please refer to the attached position description). Whilst there is nothing to preclude applicants from applying for the position if they have not yet been granted Australian Citizenship, applicants who are successful should be aware that they cannot be appointed unless they are in the process of applying for Australian Citizenship and are eligible to receive a waiver.

It is a requirement of this position that applicants undertake a psychological assessment to determine their suitability, and as an incumbent, agree to undergo periodical psychological assessments, as required.

Applicants are asked to address the following nominated work related requirements in no more than two (2) pages:

  • Communication skills - Developing and maintaining rapport with internal and external stakeholders. Working collaboratively within a team to meet priorities and outcomes. Providing a professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Drafting and preparing reports, letters, memorandums and documents with attention to detail.
  • Problem solving skills - Sourcing and assessing information to ensure compliance with processes, policies and legislation. Researching information sources, identifying issues and formulating solutions.

Applicants are also required to submit a Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills and experience relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.

The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.

Please note: For applicants deemed suitable, all Essential Work Related Requirements listed in the Position Description Form will be assessed at some stage during the selection process.

OTHER CONDITIONS

In addition to this vacancy, a POOL is being created to fill future vacancies that may arise within State Crime. This POOL will remain active for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial appointment. Applicants who are assessed as ‘suitable’ at the completion of this process, will be placed in the POOL and may be considered for future permanent and temporary vacancies as they become available.

Once an applicant within the POOL accepts a permanent vacancy offer within State Crime, that applicant will be removed from the POOL. Applicants who accept a temporary vacancy will remain in the POOL.

Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for this position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to this position may be the responsibility of the successful applicant.
