 The Roles

The PTA is seeking a pool of rail engineers to work within its Network & Infrastructure Division at Rail Engineer, Level 5 and Senior Rail Engineer, Level 6 in the Track Engineering and Track Projects and Design teams.

Rail Engineer Level 5

In this role you will be responsible for undertaking project management for both internal and external parties’ projects that impact on the PTA rail network. You will also assist in ensuring that track works and maintenance activities are safe, cost effective, completed to high quality and comply with regulations and standards to meet business needs.

It is essential that you have demonstrated recent experience in the planning, design, construction and maintenance of track infrastructure and related civil assets and knowledge of standards for the construction and maintenance of track and related civil assets.

An engineering degree that would satisfy the requirements of a Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is essential.

Senior Rail Engineer Level 6

In this role you will be provide engineering support and expertise for the maintenance, design, construction, upgrades and modifications of the Track branch assets. You will also contribute to the overall performance, reliability and compliance of the PTA Track network.

It is essential that you have proven experience in providing engineering expertise and knowledge in the planning, design, delivery and commissioning of maintenance and/or construction works in a Track systems operational asset intensive environment. Additionally, you will have demonstrated experience in providing leadership to others that contributes to the achievement of agreed outcomes for a team and proven experience in applying safety management systems and knowledge of the Rail Safety Legislation.

An engineering degree that would satisfy the requirements of a Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is essential.

The panel will make a determination as to whether you will be suitable to the Level 5 or Level 6 Rail Engineer positions based upon your application, references and interview performance.

Pool

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which fixed term and permanent appointments will be made within the next 12 months.
