The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage is seeking a highly motivated, outcome driven senior executive to fill the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) within the Business and Corporate Services (BCS) Division.
The position will report directly to the Assistant Director General – Business and Corporate Services and will be responsible for:
- Implementing change;
- Proven risk and financial management capabilities;
- Extensive expertise in successfully controlling major budgets;
- Demonstrates superior people management skills;
- Can work collaboratively in a team environment.
As the CFO, you must be highly skilled in negotiation, communication, problem solving, have a proven ability to build rapport and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated a commitment to enhancing our organisational culture, operational strategy, the creation and ongoing development and review of internal control systems, processes and financial operations.
It is a requirement that the occupant of this role has relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, commerce, business or equivalent and membership of CPA Australia, Institute of Chartered Accountants, the National Institute of Accountants or an appropriate recognised overseas accounting body.
The position will be responsible for managing the finance team and will be accountable for overseeing the department’s financial planning, financial operation, funding, treasury functions and will participate and contribute to relevant management, boards and other committee activities as required.
This is a Senior Executive Service (SES) contract for up to five (5) years that may be offered. This is a full-time position; however flexible work arrangements may be considered.
