Bluff Point Primary School (PS) is seeking a dynamic and conscientious Deputy Principal with excellent leadership skills to join their team.
The successful applicant will work with the Principal and staff to review, plan and implement effective strategies that promote the school's values, beliefs and priorities. They need to have a sound understanding of collaborative practices as well as the ability to work as a team member within a professional learning community culture in order to achieve high educational outcomes for every student.
As the Deputy Principal, you would demonstrate abilities in curriculum development, instructional strategies, Pastoral Care principles and positive behaviour management skills. A key role is to demonstrate the ability in driving whole school approaches to school planning, curriculum improvement, implementation of the Australian Curriculum, assessment and the delivery of professional learning.
Bluff Point PS was established in 1913, on the site subsequently converted to the Geraldton Camp School. The school was moved some 300 metres north along Chapman Road to its present location in 1965. There are currently 500 students enrolled in Kindergarten - year 7.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be appointed to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for 6 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:

Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;

High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;

Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs);

Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.
