All staff at Shenton College take great pride in delivering outstanding services to our students, parents and community, and the importance of strong public schooling. Shenton College is one of Australia’s leading co-educational schools and consists of a Middle School (Years 7 to 8), Lower Senior (Years 9 to 10) and Upper Senior School (Years 11 to 12). The College's strength is in its commitment to develop the “whole child” and to empower them to be independent and confident learners so that they can be purposeful contributors to an increasingly interdependent world. Our success is built on solid foundations and on the skills of an outstanding staff.
Shenton College has proud culture of excellence across all learning areas, centred on our College values of ‘Care, Curiosity and Collaboration’. With a ‘can-do’ capacity to problem solve, our staff pride themselves in delivering outstanding services to our students, parents and community. We strive to develop our students’ knowledge of the world and to foster the emotional and social intelligence they need to be active participants and leaders, now and in the future.
Located in Perth's western suburbs, the College has a well-earned reputation for excellence: whether it is the entrenched professional culture that embraces innovation and growth to the consistent success of our students at local, national; and international levels. The College’s national awarded selective Gifted and Talented Education program has broad community recognition and consistently attracts the highest calibre students from across the state. The Shenton College campus has outstanding facilities supported by an experienced and highly regarded administrative team – you will feel supported at every level of your professional life.

The Role
Shenton College is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and highly capable Youth Engagement Coordinator to join our Student Support Team. The role would contribute to the development and implementation of responsive systems, intervention strategies and support programs for students at risk of disengaging from their education, with a strong focus on achieving positive educational and wellbeing outcomes.
The successful applicant will ideally work closely with students, families and staff to coordinate individualised support, develop and monitor re-engagement plans, and provide advice on strategies that strengthen student participation and success. The role should also build and maintain strong professional links between students, families, the College and relevant government, non-government, education, training and community agencies to ensure coordinated and effective support.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Youth Engagement Coordinator would contribute to case conferences, complex case management and the College’s response to critical incidents. We are ideally seeking an applicant with highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, sound judgement, and the ability to build trusted relationships, work collaboratively across services and provide informed support to students, families and staff.
