About the role
The Workplace Health & Safety Branch partners with leaders and employees to create an environment where people feel physically, psychologically and culturally safe in our workplaces across the College. We support leaders and staff to work safely, confidently and respectfully through expert advice, proactive risk management, supporting safe work practices and continuously improving our safety culture.

The Workplace Health and Safety Officer contributes to development, implementation and review of health, safety and wellbeing initiatives and processes that contribute to a healthy and safe work environment for all.

To be successful in this role, you will have a foundational understanding of workplace health and safety principles, strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across a diverse organisation. You will demonstrate initiative, attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality support across a broad range of workplace health and safety activities, while embracing opportunities to further develop your skills and knowledge.

Suitability and Eligibility Requirements

To be considered eligible for employment, you must possess current and valid Australian work rights, such as Australian citizenship, permanent residency or an appropriate working visa. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

You must also hold, or have the ability to obtain, a Department of Education Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and a Working with Children (WWC) Card. Appointment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of any mandatory pre-employment screening requirements.
