Position Profile: The Workforce Projects Officer provides project, operational, and business support across the Workforce Services portfolio within the People, Capability and Culture directorate. The role supports the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of workforce initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement activities aligned to WACHS strategic workforce priorities.
Working closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders, the position coordinates governance, reporting, workforce projects, and business improvement initiatives, ensuring effective project management, stakeholder engagement, and delivery of outcomes. It also contributes to innovative workforce solutions, supports organisational change, and assists in implementing programs that enhance workforce capability, service delivery, and employee experience across WACHS.
Area Profile: The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to country WA residents and visitors.

- Demonstrated experience supporting or delivering projects, programs, or business improvement initiatives within a complex organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret information, identify trends and provide recommendations.
- Highly developed written communication skills, including experience preparing reports, briefing notes, business cases and governance documentation.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office applications and business systems, including advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.
- Possession of a current C or C-A Class driver’s licence
