About the Opportunity

As a Training and Assessment Officer, you will work across all sites within the Royal Perth Bentley Mount Lawley Group to deliver mandatory, essential and site-specific training programs to Patient Support Services staff.

You will facilitate learning, conduct workplace competency assessments, provide coaching and developmental feedback, and assist in maintaining a skilled and compliant workforce. Working closely with the Training and Quality Coordinator, Workforce Allocation Officers and Supervisors, you will support the coordination and delivery of training activities across a broad range of clinical and non-clinical environments.

The role also contributes to the development and continuous improvement of training resources, supports compliance with mandatory training requirements and assists with maintaining accurate training records.

Please Note: This position requires travel between Royal Perth Hospital, Bentley Hospital and Mount Lawley Hospital. Some early morning or evening attendance may be required to accommodate operational training and assessment activities.

You are a confident communicator with a passion for helping others learn and develop. You can engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and are comfortable delivering training to both small and large groups.

You possess strong organisational skills, can manage competing priorities and are able to assess workplace competency while providing constructive feedback that supports staff growth and performance. You enjoy building positive working relationships and are committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Demonstrated training and presentation skills with the ability to confidently communicate in a concise and engaging manner.
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills together with strong interpersonal engagement skills.
• Demonstrated ability to assess staff on-the-job and provide developmental feedback using a coaching approach.
• Sound organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise training attendance to meet compliance requirements.
• Experience working within a large organisation with a multicultural and diverse workforce.
• Sound knowledge of PC-based applications including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Royal Perth Bentley Mount Lawley Group

Royal Perth Hospital, Bentley Hospital and Mount Lawley Hospital are key hospitals within the East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS), delivering a broad range of high-quality healthcare services to the Western Australian community.

Royal Perth Hospital is a major tertiary facility providing specialist medical services, emergency care and major trauma services. Bentley Health Service complements this by delivering sub-acute care, rehabilitation and a range of community-based services. Mount Lawley Hospital provides specialist mental health care through comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services.

Together, these hospitals work collaboratively to support patient care, education and research across the metropolitan area, ensuring integrated, person-centred care for diverse communities.
