This is an exciting opportunity to join North Regional TAFE and live in one of the most pristine, remote and exciting regions in our State.
We are seeking a Team Leader Aboriginal Youth Engagement.
This is an Aboriginal identified position open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, in accordance with section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA). Under the direction of the Manager of Aboriginal Programs and Student Support, the Team Leader Aboriginal Youth Engagement leads, coordinates and delivers culturally appropriate Young and Deadly Futures program activities funded through Juvenile Justice. The program supports positive engagement in alternative education pathways, with embedded life skills development and community engagement, and addresses the needs of vulnerable young people with complex circumstances in Broome and/or Kununurra.
The role requires the development and maintenance of strong relationships across the College and with Aboriginal stakeholders, community members, Elders and leaders throughout the North West region to maximise program outcomes and support positive transitions into further education, training and employment.
We are looking for people who are passionate about empowering Aboriginal young people, committed to building strong relationships within communities, and motivated to create opportunities that support education, wellbeing, leadership, and future success. You are a culturally responsive leader who values collaboration, respect, and inclusion, and who can inspire and support others to make a positive difference in the lives of Aboriginal youth.
If you have expertise in leading youth engagement programs, building strong partnerships with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders, mentoring and developing high-performing teams, and delivering initiatives that improve participation, retention, and success outcomes for Aboriginal young people, we encourage you to apply. This is an opportunity to use your leadership, cultural knowledge, and relationship-building skills to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of Aboriginal youth and the communities we serve.
