The Role

The Teacher - Student Services is an integral member of the Student Services team, supporting the Heads of Student Services (Lower and Senior School). The role focuses on student wellbeing, learning support, attendance, behaviour and engagement, recognising their connection to student achievement.

The successful candidate will ideally be a compassionate, flexible and proactive educator committed to the holistic development of students. They will ideally display exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, building positive relationships with students, families, colleagues and external agencies. They should be solutions-focused, with empathy, sound judgement, initiative and adaptability when responding to diverse student needs. As a collaborative and dependable team member, they will be organised, approachable and student-centred, contributing positively to the Student Services team and school culture.

Working within a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework, the Teacher - Student Services will respond holistically to students’ social-emotional wellbeing, learning, attendance, behaviour and academic needs. They implement appropriate interventions, provide case management for identified students, promote positive engagement with school and support students’ emotional, physical and academic development.

The Teacher - Student Services work collaboratively with students, families, staff and external agencies to support positive student outcomes. Strong organisation, time management, communication and event coordination skills are important. Knowledge of adolescent mental health and wellness strategies is desirable, while training in Classroom Management Skills (CMS) and Restorative Practices will be highly regarded.
