This is a permanent part-time (0.6 FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2027
Exmouth District High School (DHS) is a proudly Independent Public School with approximately 520 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. We are committed to providing the best possible education for the students of our community and are charged with preparing our students for a diverse range of futures.
Exmouth is a coastal community situated in the remote northwest of Western Australia. Located about 1250km north of Perth, 850km north of the large regional city of Geraldton and 550km southwest of the Pilbara mining operations in Karratha, we are surrounded by Cape Range National Park and are the gateway to the unique Ningaloo Reef, recently listed as a World Heritage site. There is a permanent population of approximately 3,500 people which swells to thousands more during peak tourist periods. Due to the number of tourists visiting Exmouth the town has many amenities which would not normally be expected in a town of its size.

The Role
Exmouth DHS is seeking a highly motivated, student-centred and proactive educator to join our Student Support Hub as a Student Services Teacher. This role is working across Kindergarten to Year 12(K-12).
The Student Support Hub is a dynamic and responsive space within the school. The Student Services Teacher is directly line managed by the Student Services Program Coordinator and works within a multidisciplinary team including Youth Workers, Student Support Chaplain, School Psychologists, Student Engagement Teacher, Triage/Attendance Officer, Advanced Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer (AIEO) and AIEO.
As a K-12 school in a unique regional and relatively remote context, this is a diverse and highly flexible role. The successful applicant will ideally support the day-to-day operations of Student Services, including attendance, behaviour, engagement, wellbeing, pastoral care and case management. They will work closely with students, families, staff and external agencies to identify barriers and coordinate appropriate supports.
The role extends beyond the Student Support Hub. The successful applicant will ideally work across year levels and settings and contribute to activities such as student leadership, transition programs and camps, career pathway opportunities, health and wellbeing incursions, engagement initiatives, rewards and recognition programs, and community partnerships. A willingness to work outside the traditional classroom environment and respond flexibly to emerging student and school needs is advantageous.
Applicants should possess excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills and demonstrate the ability to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues. Experience in evidence-based interventions, case management, CMS, Restorative Practices and trauma-informed approaches will be highly regarded. As the role may include classroom teaching responsibilities, applicants should demonstrate a commitment to high impact teaching and display knowledge in an explicit approach to instructional practice linked to the Departments own Quality Teaching Strategy.
Above all, we are seeking someone who is flexible, relational, solution-focused and willing to get involved, with a strong commitment to ensuring every student is known, valued and supported to achieve success..
