The Role

As a Secondary Science Teacher, you will ideally have the capacity to create a caring, engaging and inclusive learning environment that is responsive to diverse learning needs. You would use a trauma-informed approach to ensure all students feel safe, valued and supported, while applying evidence-based, explicit teaching practices to maximise student engagement and progress. At Carnarvon CC, our contextualised Instructional model CIRCLE, works alongside our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework and Students at Educational Risk (SAER) processes to provide a consistent, supportive and purposeful approach to teaching and learning. The ability to teach General Psychology is advantageous.

You would deliver the Western Australian Curriculum and have an excellent understanding of the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework. We seek teachers with strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students successfully. The successful applicant should ideally possess the professional knowledge, understanding, and experience to deliver engaging and relevant Science programs across Years 7 to 12. You will ideally be flexible, display a strong work ethic, and develop positive, productive partnerships with students, colleagues, and the community.
