The Role

The successful applicant should demonstrate a strong understanding of the Department of Education's Teaching for Impact framework and a commitment to high-impact, evidence-based instruction. Applicants with knowledge of explicit teaching practices, including structured lesson design, daily review, guided practice and checking for understanding, will be highly regarded. The ability to utilise student achievement data to inform planning, monitor progress and adapt instruction to meet student needs is essential.

We are seeking an applicant who can contribute positively to a consistent whole-school approach to instruction through the use of clear learning intentions, explicit vocabulary instruction and high levels of student engagement. Experience using engagement norms and daily reviews to promote active participation, thinking and discussion would be highly desirable as Waroona DHS has embarked on an improvement journey that has embedded these pedagogical approaches into our teaching and learning framework

Experience in differentiating the curriculum to meet diverse learning needs and a track record of positive outcomes for students requiring additional support will be viewed favourably.

The successful applicant should possess exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong, respectful relationships with students, colleagues and parents. A strong commitment to maintaining a positive classroom culture where high expectations, belonging, engagement and student success are at the forefront is highly regarded.
