Merredin College serves approximately 500 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 (K-12) in the central Wheatbelt. Our students live in the Merredin township, travel from nearby towns, and reside at Merredin Residential College. The broader community is positively involved and invested in our school.

Merredin College is located 256 kilometres east of Perth. The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled secondary teacher with the ability to teach Science and/or Mathematics. Experience and/or qualifications in teaching senior secondary (Years 11–12) would be highly regarded as we continue to strengthen and expand our ATAR program.

Our ideal applicant will have exceptional interpersonal skills and a natural ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues. They will create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment, setting high expectations, fostering a growth mindset and supporting students’ academic, social and emotional development.

We greatly value applicants who displat high-impact teaching strategies whilst engaging learning experiences. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of differentiation and assessment practices to meet diverse student needs, monitor progress and inform teaching.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
