The Role

White Gum Valley PS is ideally seeking an enthusiastic, creative and highly collaborative Visual Arts Specialist Teacher to join our team in 2027.

The successful applicant will ideally be passionate about providing engaging and inclusive Visual Arts learning experiences that enable students from Pre-primary to Year 6 to develop their creativity, skills, confidence and appreciation of the arts.

You would be responsible for planning, delivering, assessing and reporting on a high-quality Visual Arts program aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum. The program should provide students with opportunities to explore a range of artistic processes, techniques, materials and forms while progressively developing their knowledge and skills across the primary years.

We are looking for a teacher who should create a Visual Arts program that students are excited to participate in and that celebrates creativity and individual expression. The successful applicant will ideally be able to showcase student learning throughout the school and contribute to displays, exhibitions, school events and other opportunities that celebrate the artistic achievements of our students.

The successful applicant would be expected to establish a positive, well-organised and inclusive learning environment with high expectations for student participation, behaviour and achievement. You should display effective classroom management and be willing to implement and reinforce WGVPS's whole-school Positive Behaviour Support expectations of being Respectful, Organised and Safe.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills will be highly regarded. The successful applicant should work collaboratively with classroom teachers, specialist teachers, education assistants and the school leadership team and contribute positively to our supportive and collegial staff culture.
