The School

Bannister Creek Primary School, 14 kilometers southeast of Perth, caters for approximately 600 children from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our modern facilities include 25 classrooms, five early childhood learning spaces, a contemporary library, and dedicated specialist areas for art, music and science. The Role

We are actively seeking primary teachers with exceptional interpersonal skills who display a natural ability to communicate effectively and build genuine relationships with parents, students, and colleagues.

As a primary teacher, you would quickly establish a positive, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment, setting high expectations and fostering a growth mindset while supporting students' social and emotional development through the effective implementation of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) practices.

Ideally, suitable applicants would bring exemplary teaching skills, a strong commitment to continual professional growth, and a passion for delivering evidence-informed teaching. You understand that the classroom teacher has the greatest influence on student learning and achievement and are committed to refining your practice to maximise outcomes for every student. Suitable applicants would ideally have a sound understanding of Cognitive Load Theory and use its principles to design clear, explicit, and purposeful instruction that supports all learners to acquire, retain, and apply new knowledge. They would also have strong literacy knowledge, particularly in the teaching of reading, with a deep understanding of the Big Six of Reading and the ability to apply this knowledge to improve student outcomes.
