The Role

White Gum Valley PS is ideally seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Italian Language Teacher to join our team for the 2027 school year. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and enthusiastic Italian teacher to contribute to an established specialist program and become part of the welcoming and collaborative White Gum Valley PS community.

The successful applicant would deliver an engaging and inclusive Italian program that develops students' knowledge, skills and confidence in using the Italian language while fostering curiosity about Italian culture and the wider world.

We are looking for a teacher who would make language learning engaging, purposeful and accessible for primary-aged students. The successful applicant will ideally create opportunities for students to hear, speak, read and write Italian in meaningful contexts and progressively build their language knowledge and skills.

The successful applicant should be responsible for planning, delivering, assessing and reporting on a high-quality Italian program aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum. You will ideally display strong knowledge of effective Languages teaching and an ability to explicitly teach vocabulary, pronunciation, language structures and communication skills while providing students with authentic and enjoyable opportunities to use Italian.

The successful applicant should establish a positive, well-organised and inclusive learning environment with high expectations for student participation, behaviour and achievement. You would be expected to support and reinforce White Gum Valley PS's whole-school Positive Behaviour Support expectations of being Respectful, Organised and Safe.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills would be highly regarded. The successful applicant should work collaboratively with classroom teachers, other specialist teachers and the leadership team and contribute positively to our supportive and collegial staff culture.
