We are seeking to establish a pool of Music Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Piara Waters Senior High School (SHS) is situated in the beautifully landscaped suburb of Piara Waters, approximately 25kms south of Perth. The school is surrounded by luscious greenery and forms part of the vibrant, multicultural community of Piara Waters. The school commenced with Year 7 students in 2023, and presently has Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 cohorts. Each year the school adds to its growing cohort, until it reaches Year 12 in 2028.

Our students are living in a rapidly changing world, and they need the skills to adapt and change with it. A diverse curriculum offering traditional and innovative programs of study, combined with innovative approaches to learning and teaching, will equip students to develop the skills they need to confront, adapt and thrive in a competitive and dynamic future world. The Role

As a member of the Arts team, suitable applicants will ideally be conscientious, flexible and innovative teachers who are committed to supporting the development of the whole student. You will ideally be actively involved in the school and wider community, reflective of your teaching practice and committed to using evidence-based approaches to inform teaching and learning. You should have a strong understanding of differentiation and the ability to respond effectively to the diverse needs of students.

Suitable applicants should be motivated and enthusiastic educators with the ability to teach secondary Music and a sound knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum. As a Music Teacher, you will ideally deliver an engaging and differentiated curriculum, foster students’ creative and technical development, and contribute to the school’s performing arts progam. Experience and accreditation in delivering certificate courses would be highly beneficial. You should be committed to academic excellence and the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.  Supervision of rehearsals, performances, excursions and other relevant cross curricular activities is a requirement for this role.

Suitable applicants will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to contribute to and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. You should have the ability to work independently while also contributing positively and collaboratively within a diverse team. Building strong, respectful relationships with students, staff and the wider school community will be an important aspect of the role.
