The Role
Eaton Community College is seeking a passionate and experienced Literacy and Numeracy Specialist Teacher to lead initiatives that improve student achievement across Years 7 to 12. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced or aspiring leader to drive whole-school literacy and numeracy improvement, lead targeted intervention programs and strengthen teaching practices to improve student outcomes.
The successful applicant will lead small-group intervention programs for Year 7 and 8 students and coordinate OLNA support classes for students in Years 10 to 12. They will help drive the implementation of whole-school literacy and numeracy plans, lead program delivery and monitor student progress through effective data collection and analysis. The successful applicant will ideally build staff capacity, foster positive professional relationships and lead targeted approaches to improve student outcomes in NAPLAN and OLNA.
High-level data literacy and experience in diagnostic testing and intervention programs are highly desirable, particularly in using evidence to identify student needs, guide decision-making and evaluate the impact of interventions. The successful applicant will also provide leadership in curriculum development and teaching practices, supporting teachers to respond to individual student needs, including through diagnostic assessment and the development and implementation of appropriate SEN plans.
