The School

Westfield Park Primary School is a nurturing and inclusive learning community where every child is supported to thrive.

Our school places a strong emphasis on student wellbeing, positive relationships and connectedness as the foundation for effective teaching and learning. We are committed to providing high-quality, engaging educational experiences that support every student to achieve academically while developing confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging.

Over the past twelve months, we have been on a focused student improvement journey, working towards greater consistency in teaching, learning and student support across the school. We are currently in our first year of the Fogarty EDvance Leading School Improvement program, which is supporting our ongoing focus on evidence-informed practice and whole-school improvement.

We are ideally seeking staff who are excited to be part of this journey, are committed to continuous improvement and are willing to work collaboratively within our agreed whole-school practices and approaches.

Literacy Practices

Knowledge and/or experience using the following evidence-informed literacy & Numeracy approaches and programs would be highly desirable:

  • Cracking the Code – Kindergarten
  • UFLI – Pre-Primary and Year 1
  • Spelling Mastery – Years 2–6
  • Talk 4 Writing K-6
  • Sign Post Maths PP-6

Experience with these programs is desirable; however, we also value applicants who display a willingness to learn, engage with professional development and consistently implement agreed school practices.

We are looking for educators who are ideally committed to working as part of a collaborative team and contributing positively to our continued school improvement journey.

Our teachers work collaboratively with colleagues, students, families, and the wider community to create safe, supportive, and inclusive classrooms. We ideally seek passionate, reflective educators who are committed to building strong relationships, delivering high-quality instruction, and contributing positively to a collaborative school culture.

Suitable applicants should possess strong professional knowledge, effective teaching practices, and experience in delivering engaging, student-centred programs. Ideally, you would have success working with students across a range of ability levels, including in multi-age or split-year group settings. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, along with a willingness to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external networks to foster positive community partnerships, will be highly regarded.
