The School

Takari Primary School (PS), named from the Aboriginal word meaning Tomorrow, is a vibrant Kindergarten to Year 6 school located in Balcatta, in Perth's northern suburbs. The Role

Ideally, we are seeking innovative and enthusiastic teaching professionals with the knowledge, skills and experience to teach across a broad range of year levels from Kindergarten to Year 6. A deep understanding of the Science of Learning and contemporary pedagogical practices underpins high-quality teaching and learning at Takari PS. Applicants should display experience using student achievement data to inform planning, differentiation and intervention, including proficiency in data analysis platforms such as Elastik. A strong commitment to professional growth, reflective practice and continuous improvement is essential. 

Highly desirable attributes include experience in Early Childhood Education leadership and knowledge of the National Quality Standard (NQS), as well as expertise in evidence-based literacy programs such as PreLit, InitiaLit and Heggerty. Suitable applicants will ideally display strong capacity to support diverse learners, including students with English As An Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) needs and those with ASD and/or ADHD, through inclusive, responsive and differentiated teaching practices. 

Teachers with experience implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) frameworks will be highly regarded. We are also seeking professionals who contribute positively to a culture of collaboration through coaching, classroom observation, reflective dialogue and the provision of constructive feedback to colleagues. 

Suitable applicants will ideally place student learning, wellbeing and engagement at the centre of their practice. Teachers who thrive in a team environment and embrace consistent whole-school approaches will be highly regarded, particularly those with experience working within Professional Learning Communities to evaluate the impact of teaching on student outcomes. Applicants should display the ability to effectively utilise the assess, plan, teach and review cycle to analyse data, inform instruction and differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students. 

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are highly desirable, to build positive partnerships with students, families, staff and the wider community.
