The School

Established in 1913, Nedlands Primary School (PS) has seen many prominent West Australians pass through its ranks, forming just part of our strong history. In addition to the K-6 program operating on the main school site, the school operates a Kindergarten program off-site at the Nedlands Park Early Learning Centre, about 1km from the main school.

Our school is highly sought after because:

- Parents are involved with their children and are parenting effectively

- Students feel safe and experience a strong sense of belonging

- Teachers are highly skilled, know the curriculum and deliver the learning in a highly engaging way.

To be a part of the Nedlands PS community is to commit to the above principles which guarantee the rights of every child, thriving in a learning environment that equally values the personal wellbeing and academic growth of each individual student. At Nedlands PS, we are a team. We believe in supporting our teachers, reducing workload, and working smarter together. Whether it's through shared planning, streamlined systems, or a team that genuinely has your back—we make sure our educators can thrive.

We are respectful. We are resilient. We are responsible. We are Nedlands.

The Role

Suitable applicants will ideally be skilled, enthusiastic and relational educators who combine genuine care for students with high expectations for engagement, effort, behaviour and achievement. They should create safe and inclusive classrooms where every student feels a strong sense of belonging and is supported and challenged to achieve their potential.

Applicants should display a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and use explicit, evidence-based and high-impact teaching practices to maximise learning time and improve literacy and numeracy outcomes. They should use assessment data to identify student needs, differentiate teaching, monitor progress and provide targeted intervention or extension.

For early childhood positions, knowledge of contemporary, evidence-based early childhood practice will be highly regarded. Applicants should display the capacity to balance developmentally appropriate, intentional teaching with purposeful play-based learning experiences.

Suitable applicants should be reflective, collaborative and committed to ongoing professional growth. They would build positive relationships with students, colleagues and families and contribute to team planning, professional dialogue and the consistent implementation of agreed whole-school approaches.
