The Role

As a valued member of the Warwick SHS community, the successful applicant will ideally be a passionate, conscientious and innovative HASS teacher, committed to delivering high-quality learning experiences for our students.

We are seeking applicants with a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum: Humanities and Social Sciences, including History, Geography, Civics and Citizenship, and Economics and Business across Years 7 to 10. Applicants should also have the knowledge and capacity to contribute to senior secondary HASS courses in Years 11 and 12. The ability to teach Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Modern History and General HASS in Action would be highly advantageous. In this role, you will deliver a teaching and learning program that caters to the diverse needs of Warwick SHS students, ensuring every learner is empowered to realise their potential. Flexibility and a willingness to teach across other curriculum areas, as required, would also be valued.

The ideal applicant should bring strong communication and interpersonal skills, working collaboratively with staff, students and the wider Warwick SHS community. As a reflective practitioner, you should be committed to your ongoing professional growth and will actively embrace opportunities for collaboration within our learning area and across the school. You should play an active role in progressing Warwick SHS's purpose, vision and priorities through all aspects of your professional practice.

The ideal applicant should:

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging HASS programs across Years 7 to 12, aligned with the relevant Western Australian Curriculum and senior secondary requirements.
• Contribute to the delivery of senior secondary HASS courses, including ATAR Modern History and General HASS in Action where applicable.
• Use assessment evidence, feedback and moderation processes to monitor student progress, support consistent teacher judgement and inform teaching and learning.
• Foster students' skills in historical and geographical inquiry, critical analysis and civic understanding through engaging, well-resourced learning experiences.
• Maintain safe, inclusive and well-managed classroom environments that cater to the diverse needs of learners.
• Build positive, professional relationships with students, colleagues, parents and the broader school community.
• Engage in reflective practice and ongoing professional learning to strengthen your professional practice.
• Contribute to the school's priorities and culture, including alignment with the 2027–2029 Business Plan.
• Display flexibility to teach in other curriculum areas where needed.
