Churchlands Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Home Economics Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. The Role
As a Home Economics Teacher, you will ideally have the capacity to teach across a range of Home Economics courses and contribute to engaging learning experiences for our students. You should have a sound knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum, and an understanding of the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) Food Science and Technology courses.
Experience in, or a willingness and capacity to contribute to, Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs is highly valued. Applicants who hold a Certificate II in Kitchen Operations and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment are encouraged to apply. Experience and/or ability to delivery VET courses, particularly the Certificate II in Hospitality, will be highly regarded.
Additionally, applicants with the ability to deliver General Materials Design Technology – Textiles will also be highly regarded.
