The Role

The successful applicant should be able to teach a range of courses in the variety of Home Economics contexts (food, textiles and childcare), including vocational courses and senior secondary level courses. Recent experience in teaching senior school courses and the ability to teach certificate courses in these areas is highly desirable.

The successful applicant should be a passionate and dedicated educator who is highly motivated to work in a collaborative team environment. They would provide students with a purposeful and engaging learning experience to develop their skills, knowledge and understandings related to Home Economics. Our learning programs provide opportunities for students to make links between content and skill development, and enables students to be curious learners, supported by a variety of approaches to learning.

The successful applicant should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning. You will ideally be innovative, knowledgeable, and possess thorough understandings of instructional and curriculum expertise whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments within the Learning Area. You should be reflective in assessing the effectiveness of your teaching practice and able to cultivate a safe and accountable learning environment as well as have experience in a wide range of teaching models and differentiating the curriculum. Adopting inclusive practices, building positive relationships with students, staff and the community are important components of the role.
