Mount Barker Community College is seeking an enthusiastic Health and Physical Education Teacher to join our team and make a difference to the lives of our students.

We are an Independent Kindergarten to Year 12 (K–12) public school with a strong tradition of community connection, student success and opportunities for all students to thrive. The Role

We are looking for a teacher who understands that Health and Physical Education is about much more than sport. It is about building confidence, wellbeing, teamwork, resilience and a lifelong appreciation of being active.

The successful applicant will ideally deliver engaging Health and Physical Education programs from Year 7 to Year 12, contribute to our school sporting opportunities and help create experiences that encourage students to participate, challenge themselves and achieve their personal best. Experience or the ability to teach Outdoor Education would be an added advantage.

You will ideally bring strong knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education, a commitment to high expectations and the ability to develop positive relationships with students.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
