We are seeking to establish a pool of Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Bruce Rock District High School (DHS) is 240 km from Perth and caters for 110 children from Kindergarten to Year 11. Support for students with Special Needs is provided across the school, and our teachers are committed to a school that is inclusive and supportive for all students.

This pool will fill potential roles in classrooms from Kindergarten to Year 10.

The Role

We are seeking passionate, motivated and skilled educators who are committed to improving learning outcomes for every child, every day. Applicants should ideally possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, enabling the development of positive and productive relationships with students, colleagues, parents and the wider community. We value educators who can create safe, supportive and predictable learning environments through the consistent implementation of classroom routines and whole-school expectations. Our school has implemented an developed a number of whole-school approaches to supporting high quality pedagogy which maximises learning for all students, including those with disabilities and diagnosed neurodivergent disorders. 

From this pool, we will be looking to fill roles within our school for the 2027 school year, with possible vacancies for Primary classroom teachers, and a range of specialists.  There is currently an opportunity for a teacher from the Mathematics and Health and Physical Education fields, who is comfortable in upper primary and lower secondary. We may also possibly be looking for Specialist teachers who may have backgrounds in the Arts (Visual arts, Drama), Science or other specialist areas in the Primary School.

Suitable applicants should be creative problem-solvers, looking for new ways to engage students and help them reach their individual potential. They should possess a strong capability to plan challenging and engaging programs using an excellent understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position.  At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
