Care, Inspire and Thrive - these are the core values of our vibrant and unique school community. We strive to give all students the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to achieve their individual potential and contribute as responsible members of society. Marble Bar Primary School (PS) caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Our school supports students to reach their potential by providing high quality teaching and engaging students in a nurturing environment. We respectfully acknowledge the past and present traditional owners of the land on which the school is set - the Nyamal people, who are the custodians.

The Role
Marble Bar PS is seeking a flexible and versatile teacher to work across all classrooms as part of our Duties other than Teaching (DOTT) relief and whole-school teaching program.
The successful applicant will primarily deliver Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) across the school while also supporting the implementation of our whole-school Literacy and Numeracy approaches.
Our key literacy and numeracy programs include Heggerty, Letters and Sounds, Talk for Writing and Numeracy Top Ten.
The teacher will work with students across different year levels and abilities and should be comfortable adapting lessons to suit multi-age and small-group settings. They will also provide additional Literacy and Numeracy support where required.
As part of a small remote school, the role extends beyond classroom teaching. The successful applicant will assist with the organisation, maintenance and management of teaching and learning resources and contribute to whole-school activities and program.
We are looking for someone who is practical, adaptable and willing to work collaboratively as part of a small team. Experience in remote education, Aboriginal education, multi-age teaching or intervention programs would be an advantage but is not essential.
Working at a Remote Teaching School
Schools in the Remote Teaching Service are located in some of the most isolated parts of the State. They may be in community settings or small towns, and the majority of students are from local Aboriginal families. They deliver flexible and innovative education programs to ensure students in remote areas have access to high quality learning programs.
Teaching in a remote school offers a range of professional opportunities for teachers who are engaging and resilient. If you are flexible and like working as part of a team you have the opportunity to be part of this innovative learning community. Skills and interests in literacy, numeracy and English as an additional language/dialect (EAL/D) are highly valued.
Teachers who live and work in the remote teaching service tell us that it makes them better teachers, and better people. The Department of Education also supports our teachers by providing a range of additional allowances and benefits.
