Merriwa Education Support Centre (ESC) is a specialist primary school providing high-quality teaching and learning programs for students with disabilities and complex learning needs from Kindergarten to Year 6. The Role

As Education Support Teachers, you will ideally support the planning, delivery and review of individualised learning programs for students with diverse and complex learning needs. Suitable applicants should work closely with students, education assistants, families and relevant support staff to create inclusive learning environments and ensure appropriate adjustments are in place to support student participation, progress and wellbeing.

Core responsibilities for this role includes developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other student support plans, adapting curriculum and assessment to meet individual needs, delivering differentiated teaching programs, and monitoring student progress through assessment, data collection and reporting. The role also involves coordinating with Education Assistants, Student Services staff, therapists and leadership teams to ensure student support is consistent, targeted and responsive.

Experience using evidence-based practices and specialised approaches such as Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), visual supports, sensory-informed strategies and other interventions for students with high and complex needs would be highly regarded. Strong communication and collaborative skills are also valued, particularly when contributing to shared planning and reviewing strategies to support positive student outcomes.
