The Role
As an Education Support Teacher, you will support the planning, delivery and review of individualised learning programs for students with diverse and complex learning needs. The successful applicant will work closely with students, education assistants, families and relevant support staff to create inclusive learning environments and ensure appropriate adjustments are in place to support student participation, progress and wellbeing.
The core responsibilities of this role include developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other student curriculum plans, adapting curriculum and assessment to meet individual needs, delivering differentiated teaching programs, and monitoring student progress through assessment, data collection and reporting. The role also involves working closely with Education Assistants, Student Services staff and the leadership team to ensure student support is consistent, targeted and responsive. Experience in developing and teaching ASDAN programs would be an advantage. Experience using evidence-based practices and specialised approaches such as Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), visual supports, sensory-informed strategies and other interventions for students with high and complex needs would be highly regarded. Strong communication and collaborative skills are also valued, particularly when contributing to shared planning and reviewing strategies to support positive student outcomes.
