The Role

We are ideally seeking a qualified Early Childhood Education Teacher to join our friendly team at Orelia Primary School. We are looking for a teacher with exemplary teaching skills, a strong motivation to excel, and a commitment to inclusive, high-quality and evidence-informed practice. Suitable applicants should exhibit a strong belief that every child can learn, grow and achieve their potential. You should be creative, responsive and reflective in your approach, recognising and celebrating the individual strengths, interests, backgrounds and needs of every child.

As an Early Childhood teacher, you should establish a nurturing, inclusive and engaging learning environment that supports developmental learning while providing purposeful, play-based and explicit learning experiences that promote curiosity, confidence, independence, communication and a love of learning. Getting to know your students well is important and you should use observation, assessment and evidence to inform planning, differentiate learning and respond to individual developmental and educational needs.

Our teachers are valued members of the Orelia Primary School community, building genuine, respectful and positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the wider community. You will ideally create a classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, connected and empowered to participate in their learning. A strong understanding of early childhood development and a commitment to supporting children's social, emotional and academic growth will be highly valued as well as a knowledge of Letters and Sounds, Talk for Writing, Talk for Reading and Prime Math.

Suitable applicants will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills and contribute positively to whole-school priorities and team structures. You should be committed to reflective practice, ongoing professional learning and using evidence to continually improve your teaching. Displaying responsive strategies to develop children's self-regulation, independence and sense of belonging will be highly regarded, contributing to a positive and inclusive school culture and support consistent whole-school approaches to student wellbeing and behaviour.
