The Role

We are looking for a Technologies Teacher with particular expertise in the area of Home Economics.

If you are a qualified and motivated individual with a commitment to nurturing young minds and igniting a love for food technology and textiles, we invite you to apply. Join us in shaping our students' educational journey and making a lasting impact.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in our Home Economics Team across a variety of contexts including food, textiles and childcare with the possibility of pursuing areas of specialty. You should be able to teach students of varying ability levels across Years 7 – 12 in a highly engaging manner. The knowledge and expertise to teach certificate level qualifications, in relation to Hospitality and Community Services, would also be advantageous as we have commercial grade cooking facilities onsite. The successful applicant should possess excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and be capable of delivering practical content in an engaging manner. They will provide students with a purposeful learning experience, tailored to develop student’s skills, knowledge and understanding related to all areas within Home Economics. The role involves delivering comprehensive and dynamic food technology and textile lessons, fostering a positive learning environment, and actively contributing to the development of our curriculum. As a reflective practitioner, the successful applicant will ideally display effective data literacy and a capacity to modify their practice to meet identified student needs.

You should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective interaction with students, colleagues, and parents. Additionally, you should be a highly effective team member, actively contributing to a positive culture of success where students are motivated to achieve their personal best. The desired applicant will ideally display a commitment to high expectations, reflective practice and continuous improvement. They will be supported by an experienced and collaborative team, with access to quality curriculum resources, professional learning opportunities and a strong culture of shared practice.
