About Us
The Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission (Commission) is a specialist industrial tribunal and court of record. Established by the Industrial Relations Act 1979 (WA), the Commission resolves disputes about industrial matters, including any matter relating to the work, privileges, rights or duties of employers or employees in industry.
The Department of the Registrar provides administration, advice and support to enable the general community, employee and employer associations, industrial practitioners and government agencies to make applications to the Commission, the Industrial Magistrates Court and the Industrial Appeal Court.

About the Role
The Systems Administrator is a key part of our IT team and develops and administers our IT systems, network, cyber security capability and service desk. The role supports our cloud infrastructure, M365 and endpoint environments, as well as manages disaster recovery, monitors and supports our security technology, manages vulnerabilities and resolves incidents.
The role also works collaboratively with our Senior Developer Architect and developer team to deliver contemporary IT services to a small department and the Commission.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate is a proactive IT professional with at least four years' experience across systems administration, networking and infrastructure, and possesses the following:
- Hands-on expertise in Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory and modern endpoint management solutions such as Entra ID or Intune.
- Cyber security experience using contemporary solutions, such as Microsoft Defender.
- Knowledge of the Essential Eight Software.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills and a service-oriented mindset.

- Considerable experience in a systems administration capacity covering Windows Server, network, and backup infrastructure.
- Considerable experience with administration of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra, Active Directory, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Intune.
- Demonstrated cyber security experience, including incident investigation and response, endpoint security and vulnerability remediation.

Other Conditions and Appointment Factors
This is a permanent full-time position.
This process may be used to fill other similar permanent or fixed term positions that may arise throughout the Department for the 6 months following the approval of the initial recruitment decision.
