The Role
The Student Services Officer (SSO) will work closely with the Student Services Coordinator, leadership team and school staff to provide responsive support to students and families.
The position will have a strong focus on Malibu School’s Transition and Outreach (T&O) Program, supporting students and families who are experiencing challenges that impact their engagement with school. The successful applicant should build positive relationships, understand individual circumstances and work collaboratively with students, families and staff to identify strategies that support engagement, participation and connection with school.
The role will also provide support within the broader Student Services team, including maintaining student records, preparing information for case management and meetings, supporting student programs and assisting with attendance and engagement strategies.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, relatable, flexible and relationship-focused, with the ability to build genuine connections with students, families and staff. The successful applicant will be comfortable working collaboratively and independently, thinking creatively and responding to the individual needs of students and families.
Experience working with students who experience barriers to school engagement, and an understanding of trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches, will be highly regarded.
This is an opportunity to be part of a team committed to building connections, removing barriers and supporting every student to engage in school life.
