The Role

In this specialist role, the successful applicant will provide expert input into the development and implementation of school-based policies and programs supporting students’ speech, language, and literacy development. We are ideally seeking a Speech Pathologist with experience and expertise in working with students with disabilities and complex communication needs, who can work collaboratively within a team to build the capacity of staff and students in Literacy.

You will assess, plan, and deliver targeted interventions and educational programs for students with language impairments, while offering professional guidance and training to teachers, support staff, and parents. The successful applicant will also lead literacy development and implementation across the entire school, working collaboratively with staff to strengthen literacy practices and outcomes for students.

You will contribute to and maintain strong partnerships with schools and external service providers to ensure effective, coordinated support. Additionally, you will monitor and report on student progress, participate in research and professional development activities, and may supervise university speech pathology students on placement.

• consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

  • 5. Demonstrated ability to monitor and evaluate language impaired students’ progress both individually and in the context of language/literacy programs.
