Position Profile and Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Social Worker to join the Mental Health Crisis Centre at Fremantle Hospital Mental Health Service.
In this role, you will provide advanced clinical social work services to individuals experiencing acute mental health crises, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, recovery orientated and person-centred care. The successful applicant will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing clinical and professional expertise to ensure comprehensive evidence-based care is delivered to consumers within the 24/7 Mental Health Crisis Centre (MHCC). This role will require shifts in the day, evening and nights.
Alongside the team, the Senior Social Worker implements, coordinates and evaluates Social Work services to consumers, their families/significant others in the clinical specialty area of Mental Health, using advanced Social Work clinical practice skills from a recovery orientated and trauma informed perspective. You will plan, implement and evaluate client safety and quality of care.
Additionally, you will supervise Social Work staff, students and support staff in the unit/clinical area, coordinates duties and manages performance. Practises as a Senior Social Worker and ensures practice is in accordance with the Australian Association of Social Workers Practice Standards and Code of Ethics and SMHS policies and guidelines.

South Metropolitan Health Service Mental Health has opened a new state-of-the-art facility at Fremantle Hospital designed to offer expanded and modern mental health services for our community. The three-storey space will provide an additional 40 mental health beds and a 24-hour Mental Health Crisis Centre, ensuring compassionate and innovative care for those who need it most.
