About the New Mandurah Hospital Project
The New Mandurah Hospital Project is a major investment in healthcare services for the Peel region. The project will deliver a modern, state-of-the-art public hospital designed to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community now and into the future.
The project involves planning, designing, commissioning and transitioning services to a new hospital campus that will enhance patient care, improve access to healthcare services and provide a contemporary environment for patients, visitors and staff. The program brings together clinicians, support services, corporate teams, government stakeholders and the community to ensure the new facility is safe, efficient and future-focused.

Team members play a vital role in supporting operational readiness, service planning, workforce preparation, stakeholder engagement and the successful transition to the new hospital.
The project's service planning and operational readiness program is delivered across three key streams:
- Clinical Services – Working with clinical teams to design, plan and prepare healthcare services, models of care and workforce requirements for the new hospital.
- Non-Clinical Services – Supporting the planning and transition of essential support services that enable safe and efficient hospital operations, including patient support, administration, hospitality and other operational functions. Focus on Human Resources
- Facilities Management and Corporate Services – Preparing facilities, infrastructure, finance, procurement, governance and corporate support functions to ensure the new hospital is operationally ready from day one.

About us
South Metropolitan Health Service, every employee contributes to delivering safe, high-quality care to our community. Guided by our vision of Excellent health care, every time, we place research, innovation and continuous improvement at the centre of everything we do. We are building a culture of shared learning and leadership that reflects our commitment to being Collectively One, Locally Led. Through tailored development programs, leadership opportunities and contemporary ways of working, our people are empowered to grow, thrive and make a meaningful difference across every site and portfolio.
Peel Health Campus transitioned to South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) in August 2024, marking the beginning of an exciting new era for healthcare in the Peel-Murray region. The transition has enabled significant investment in the future of local health services, including plans for a new purpose-built public hospital on the existing site. Alongside the 192-bed Peel Health Campus, the Group includes Murray District Hospital, which provides inpatient medical, palliative care and allied health services. Together, these facilities support the delivery of high-quality care closer to home. The planned redevelopment will expand services, modernise facilities and improve access to healthcare for the growing Peel-Murray community.
