About the Opportunity
This is a vacancy for Fixed Term Full Time appointments, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
Shape the future of healthcare infrastructure across East Metropolitan Health Service.
East Metropolitan Health Service is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager to lead the planning and delivery of complex infrastructure projects across our hospital network. This is an exciting opportunity to manage diverse capital and minor works programs that directly support the delivery of safe, modern and reliable healthcare services for our community.
Working across multidisciplinary teams, you will oversee projects involving engineering services, building infrastructure, critical plant and equipment, and ICT-enabled infrastructure. You will engage with clinicians, facilities teams, engineers, consultants and contractors to deliver projects that improve hospital operations, patient care and service resilience.
Position Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and outcomes-focused Senior Project Manager with demonstrated experience delivering complex infrastructure projects within large, operational environments.
The successful applicant will provide leadership across the full project lifecycle—from strategic planning and business case development through to design, procurement, construction and commissioning. You will be responsible for managing multiple capital and infrastructure projects while ensuring delivery against scope, budget, programme and quality objectives.
This role requires strong technical capability across healthcare or comparable infrastructure environments, with experience delivering projects involving:
- Building and civil infrastructure
- Engineering services (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, fire and communications)
- Critical plant and equipment
- ICT and technology-enabled infrastructure
- Asset renewal, redevelopment and operational upgrades
As the primary interface between clinical stakeholders, operational teams, consultants and contractors, you will build collaborative relationships, provide strategic advice and lead multidisciplinary project teams to successfully deliver infrastructure outcomes across all East Metropolitan Health Service hospital sites.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills, together with the ability to navigate complex operational environments where infrastructure projects must be delivered with minimal disruption to critical healthcare services.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants found suitable for this position may be considered for other ‘similar’ vacancies within EMHS and/or the wider WA public sector. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
