Position Profile and Role
The Peel and Rockingham Kwinana (PaRK) Mental Health Service teams are seeking applications from Senior Occupational Therapist.
The successful applicant shall be part of a multidisciplinary team, plans, implements, coordinates and evaluates Occupational Therapy services to patients within the clinical area using advanced Occupational Therapy clinical practice skills. Plans, implements and evaluates patient safety and quality of care. Supervises Occupational Therapy staff and support staff in the unit/clinical area, coordinates duties and managers performance. Practices as a Senior Occupational Therapist and ensures practice is in accordance to the Occupational Therapy professional and registration requirements, standards, codes and guidelines and SMHS policies and guidelines

The Peel and Rockingham Kwinana (PaRK) Mental Health service
PaRK provides mental health services to adults and older adults living in the communities of Kwinana, Rockingham, Mandurah, Pinjarra and Waroona. The PaRK mental health service is a vibrant and progressive organisation whose mission is to provide safe and progressive patient care within a positive work environment and culture.
There is a broad suite of services available including adult and older adult inpatient (including and ECT program) and adult and older adult community services as well as a number of speciality services including emergency department liaison, consultation liaison, day therapy, hospital in the home. early episode psychosis, assertive community treatment, perinatal, GP liaison, drug and alcohol services, aboriginal mental health services, community step up and step-down accommodation among others. We offer a range of therapeutic programs including CBT, DBT rehabilitation services and peer support. We take pride in our strong links with our community partners and the community at large.
Mimidi Park Inpatient Mental Health Unit
The Mimidi Park Inpatient Unit is a mental health facility located at Rockingham General Hospital in Perth, Western Australia, providing an inpatient service to people aged over 18 with acute mental health issues. The unit has 20 adult beds and 10 older adult beds.
Our services are responsive to the individual needs of mental health consumers and include a range of therapeutic interventions focusing on the patient’s strengths, skills, and goals to support their recovery in a safe, supportive environment.
Care is provided by multidisciplinary clinical teams including:
- Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Registrars, or Medical Officers
- Nurse Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Clinical Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Enrolled Nurses
- Allied Health Professionals including Occupational Therapists, Social workers, Clinical Psychologist, Pharmacist, Physio and Dietitian.
- Aboriginal Health Liaison Officers
- Peer Support Workers
- Welfare officers
Our service provides evidence - based care with strong consumer and carer engagement, we work collaboratively to support the patients long term recovery.
