Whiteman Park and the Revolutions Transport Museum are looking for an experienced Senior Museum Officer to lead collection management, documentation and interpretation of significant cultural heritage collections while delivering high-quality museum experiences.
The Senior Museum Officer supports the delivery of contemporary museum services; coordinating the management, conservation, documentation and interpretation of cultural heritage collections, while ensuring the effective operation and presentation of museum facilities.
The position also contributes to visitor engagement programs, stakeholder relationships, staff and volunteer support, and assists with planning, budgeting and safety initiatives. This role helps ensure museum services are accessible, engaging and aligned with contemporary museum practices.
There is one permanent, full-time opportunity available. This process may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise within the Department and across the WA public sector in the next 12 months from the initial date of appointment.
To be successful for this position, you need to have:
- Demonstrated experience in contemporary museum management practices, including collection care, conservation, storage, research, and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake collection research and analysis and develop fit for purpose policies and procedures related to a museum environment.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering high quality events and engagement programs in a museum environment.
- An understanding of financial management.
- Demonstrate the behaviours within the leadership context as outlined below.
Core leadership behaviours outlined in Leadership Expectations are applicable to this role and should be demonstrated in the context of Personal Leadership. The Personal Leadership context is about the work of individuals not yet in traditional leadership positions who make a direct and immediate difference to the agency.

Special Requirements for this position:
Possession of, a current ‘C’ Class drivers’ licence.
Hold a valid Western Australin Working with Children Check (WWCC).
Possession of a current Provide First Aid Certificate.
Completion of Bushfire Awareness training relevant to the role.
The Department will conduct a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check for applicants successful to this recruitment process.
