About Finance 

As part of the Capability and Performance Division, the Finance Directorate drives the delivery of financial planning, management, and accounting services for CITS. It plays a critical role in enabling strategic decision-making by providing expert advice, guidance, and reporting that supports the achievement of financial business plans and operational outcomes. 

About the role

CITS is seeking to establish a pool of motivated and detail-oriented Senior Finance Officers to join our Finance team.

This role supports the Department's financial reporting and compliance obligations through the delivery of accurate financial information, analysis and advice. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure financial transactions are processed accurately, and reporting requirements are met within prescribed timeframes.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Assist with taxation compliance, including preparation of Business Activity Statement (BAS) and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns
• Assists with month-end activities including preparing accrual journals, financial adjustments, payroll journals and general ledger reconciliations
• Contribute to the preparation of annual financial statements, and other statutory and taxation reporting requirements
• Support fixed asset management, financial policy development, and compliance activities, to ensure adherence to the Financial Management Act 2006, Treasurer's Instructions, Australian Accounting Standards
• Analyse financial data and leverage reporting and analytics tools to identify trends, investigate variances, and recommend process improvements

We currently have one permanent, full time (75hrs p/f) position available.
